ADBASTON PARISH COUNCIL
A MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WAS HELD ON MONDAY 11TH JULY 2011 AT 7.30PM IN ADBASTON JUBILEE ROOM.
PRESENT: Cllr(s) N.Evans, P Nicholson., B.Brown., P.Byrd., G.Mansell., A.Ward., Bor'Cllr P.Jones., (also present Miss A Newsome, Mrs G Wheeler)
(co-opted members Cllr A Ward and Cllr J Mansell signed declarations of acceptance of office)
ITEM 1 CHAIRMAN'S WELCOME: The chairman welcomed all those present .
ITEM 2 APOLOGIES: An apology received from Cllr P Drewnicki.
ITEM 3 MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD ON 16TH MAY. These minutes were accepted as a true record and signed by the chairman.
ITEM 4 MATTERS ARISING :
A NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH COMMITTEE: THE CHAIRMAN – IT WAS PROPOSED THAT 'ASH' CONNOR AND ANY INTERESTED PARTIES BE INVITED TO THE NEXT PARISH COUNCIL MEETING IN OCTOBER WITH THE AIM OF RESURRECTING THE NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH TEAM, THIS WAS AGREED.
B WINTER GRITTING: STAFFS COUNTY COUNCIL TO BE APPROACHED, IT WAS AGREED THAT PILES OF GRIT RATHER THAN GRIT BOXES WOULD BE PREFERABLE REMOVING THE RISK OF THEFT OF THE BOXES WHICH HAS OCCURRED IN THE PAST.
C BISHOPS OFFLEY COMMON: Mrs G Wheeler provided a report on the Ecological status of the pond/common land as at June 2011. It was agreed to hold a site meeting prior to the October meeting to work out the next stage of the project. Cllr P Jones agreed to speak with STCV to see if any help could be given by the Trust.
D CLLRS TELEPHONE NUMBERS (TO BE PUT ON BISHOPS OFFLEY WEB SITE.
ITEM 5 CORRESPONDENCE
A BALFOURS: SUGNALL ESTATE, WALK MILL RE-DEVELOPMENT-INCLUDING PROPOSED HOUSES AT COPMERE END. PUBLIC MEETING TO BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY 29TH JUNE FROM 4.00PM TO 7.3OPM IN OFFLEY HAY VILLAGE HALL.
B NETWORK RAIL/NORTON BRIDGE SECTION
ITEM 6 FINANCE
A ZURICH INSURANCE - £225.00 THIS HAD BEEN PAID PRIOR TO THIS MEETING.

COMMUNICATIONS
ITEM 8 PLANNING APPLICATIONS:
Plan for retention of five houses, refused and gone to appeal. Appeal had been successful and costs awarded
ITEM 9 ANY OTHER BUSINESS: THE FOLLOWING ITEMS RAISED.
A DRAINS, BISHOPS OFFLEY. Blocked.
B NEIGHBOURHOOD HIGHWAYS TEAM – work carried out, thanks to Highways Liason
Officer, Shane Latham.
C PARISH MAP – this has not been found, a new one to be obtained.
D 'BUS SHELTER a request for a 'bus shelter received. Enquiries to be made.
ITEM 10 DATES OF FUTURE MEETINGS: It was agreed to hold meetings bi-monthly commencing from October 10th on the second Monday in the month.
