Minutes of BishopÕs Offley Millennium Green Meeting Held on Monday 29th June 2009 at The Star, Copmere

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

Everyone was happy with the Minutes

The Dog Fouling poster had been laminated and was on the gate

Assets

A meeting with Amicia, Andrew and Mark had taken place to review insurance and budgeting for depreciation. Report on progress later in the year ACTION Mark

Bench in Memorial to Terence Marsden,

The aim is to have the bench with its engraving ready for Sports Day.

The words we would like to use are from the Memoirs and are ÔI have enjoyed every minute IÕve lived in Bishops OffleyÉÉand wouldnÕt change anythingÕ ACTION Patrick

Football on The Green

The Rhodes had contacted Mark about issues they are having on accessing their drive due to cars parked by people playing football on The Green.  Kevin also advised that bad language had also been used. Football was being played regularly from about 7.30 to 9pm. Mark had spoken to Russell and he was going to mention it to George to see if he knew who the people were to have a word about being considerate to The Greens neighbours. ACTION Russell

Visit the Green to speak to the players about being more careful with parking and language. ACTION Mark

It was reported there was a little bit of litter on The Green but Bob said it was normally tidy

 

2010 IDEAS

Andrew advised the meeting that Victoria is making progress.

The aim is to establish the Terence Marsden trail using the route that Victoria is working on. Progress this with the Council when everything is finalised. The idea is to use basic information which is only visible from the path which will all be on public rights of way.

  

100 Club

As Jon was away the draw was carried over for another month.  

 

EVENT REPORTS

Garden Party on Saturday 13th June at The Manor Organiser Ann

 It had been a great success and raised over £1600 to be shared between the Bishops Offley Chapel roof and Adbaston Community Room.

 

 

FUTURE EVENTS

Sports Day on Saturday 11th July There will be no overall Organiser

People not available for Sports Day are Russell and Liz, Andrew & Julia.

The tables from Broughton are at AnnÕs (There is one left in the summer house) ready to be collected. A cheque for the hire £20 was given to Patrick.

The tables and chairs from CartmelÕs are at RaymondÕs. (They are not on a trailer as discussed at the meeting)

A toilet has been booked. Find out day of delivery so gate can be left unlocked ACTION Bob and Raymond

The normal source of 30 small straw bales is no longer available. Check other availability by this weekend Harry ACTION Patrick, Work colleague ACTION Amicia (They do not have any bales) Julia and Chris ACTION Sarah

If bales are not available we will have to bring chairs. To be decided early next week ACTION Sarah

Look after the money at the end of the day as Andrew is away ACTION Mark

The theme this year is to be BALLS. The event will be similar to the Olympics

Entrance £2 Adult, Children Free then all events are free.

There is no Promises Auction this year.

Raffle

There will be a raffle set up on a table in the tea tents. Please can people donate raffle prizes and bring them on the Saturday morning. ACTION ALL

Tombola

The tombola is being run by Liz Hemmingway and Pat Kennedy.

Croquet           Ann was not sure if they would be available. Ask Lorna Hemmingway to run the game ACTION Ann possibly borrow AudreyÕs set

We will give out stickers like last year on the gate ACTION Raymond

Each event the child gets a coloured sticker from the event organiser. Provide coloured stickers ACTION Sarah

When children complete all events and get all the stickers they are given an ice pop. ACTION Sarah

There will be no big prizes

There will be no medals so stall holders were asked to provide the prizes needed for their event ACTION ALL

Races

Check if rosettes have been ordered and arrange to collect them ACTION Russell and Debs

David Hemmingway had agreed to help with the races.

Arrange to collect items from RussellÕs for the races. Bean bags, Spoons, Ties for the 3 legged races, finish line rope and lime. Also First Aid Kit, load hauler, barrels for rubbish, BBQ   ACTION Amicia and Russell

Golf balls for the Egg and Spoon race ACTION Kevin (Sorry not discussed at meeting I remembered later)

Golden Ball Trophy Organiser Kevin

The final event will involve lifting lots of different shaped balls with different points and to carry them over a distance. Final ideas to be worked on during Saturday morning.

Bring different sizes and types of balls on Friday evening ACTION All

Heats may be run during the afternoon and then a final that everyone will watch. Prize may be a ÔGolden Ball TrophyÕ Ferro Roche chocolate tower.

BBQ

First Aid Course is on Saturday 19th September

There could be up to 14 attendees and these can be either new people or ones wanting to update their certificates.
