2010 IDEAS
Victoria and Julia Brooks joined us to discuss the possibilities for the ÔCreation of Nature and Features TrailÕ that was one of the ideas for the Green to celebrate 2010. VictoriaÕs area of expertise is plants and Julia has volunteered to help by taking photographs and for safety. There were many ideas discussed such as marking points of interest, publishing a leaflet, doing seasonal walks. It takes about an afternoon to do 1.5km of hedge. Victoria has very kindly agreed to do this work at no charge which is a wonderful gift to the Green. Victoria agreed to investigate a possible route and to come and discuss with us at a future meeting.
During the study Victoria may also identify areas that with some work could protect a habitat from an invasive weed. The Green could then arrange for this work to take place.
Barry Till has a lot of knowledge of the local wildlife so it may be worth speaking to him to support VictoriaÕs study.
If we want to spend money on markers or leaflets it was
suggested money may be available from the Landfill Trust. ACTION ANN
