2010 IDEAS
Victoria and Julia Brooks had prepared a 3 mile walk from The Green, along the lane and behind Tthe Green to Offley Marsh, up the lane behind the Chapel to the bridle path by TerranceÕs bungalow, across the road to Jackson marsh, passed the bottom of the rock, along the river Sow, passed the mill along the lane to just before Outlands, across the field by OzzieÕs old house up to RaymondÕs, along the road in front of Manor Farm, behind the Manor and across the fields back to The Green.
It was thought this would take 4 to 5 days probably spread over evenings. Victoria to start in April and do a days work to see if the 4-5 day estimate is correct.
Some information could be borrowed from Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.
Speak to John Wheeler on Offley Marsh data. It was thought some work had been done in the 1980Õs ACTION ANDREW
Tony Pace for the post office in Eccleshall has a brother who is a geologist
John Ripon may be able to help us. Contact him to discuss
area of expertise ACTION ANDREW
Check if she has a recent site report with interesting information and also information on her cave ACTION PAT
During the study Victoria may also identify areas that with some work could protect a habitat from an invasive weed. The Green could then arrange for this work to take place.
Barry Till has a lot of knowledge of the local wildlife and geology so it may be worth speaking to him to support VictoriaÕs study.
Ann had provided some information on Entrust. This would be
a potential source to help fund the cost of sign posts, leaflets being printed,
information boards etc.
