ADBASTON PARISH COUNCIL

 

A MEETING OF THE PARISH COUNCIL WAS HELD ON MONDAY 21ST JULY 2008 AT 7.30PM IN THE JUBILEE ROOM, ADBASTON.

 

 

PRESENT:      Cllr(s) J.S.Billington., R.K.Briggs., B.Brown., P.Drewnicki.

 

ITEM I           The chairman welcomed all those present and opened the meeting.

 

ITEM 2           APOLOGIES: Apologies received from Cllr(s) J.Bethell., P.J.Byrd.,

                        N.Evans and Cllr F Chapman.

 

ITEM 3           The minutes of the January 14th meeting were accepted as a correct record and signed by the chairman.

 

ITEM 4           MATTERS ARISING:

 

A)                              Hedgerow – this had been cut back.  Discharged.

B)                              Satellite Navigation Sytems – discharged.

C)                              Village name sign, Knighton: Staffordshire County Council have now agreed to provide and finance signs.  On going.

D)                              Road safety issues, Bishops Offley. Discharge (but monitor)

E)                               Parking – Adbaston. On going.

 

ITEM 5           CORRESPONDENCE

 

A)                              Stafford Borough Council – Parish forum will be held on September 4th , questions invited (funding for parking to be queried)

B)                              Letters of thanks for grants received from the Jubilee Club and the Benefice Committee (Newsletter grant)

C)                              Local development framework for Shropshire. Consultatikon core strategy topic papers received.

 

ITEM 6           FINANCE

 

A)                              Zurich Insurance renewal invoice £205.00 had been received and paid.

 

ITEM 7           PLANNING APPLICATIONS:

 

07/08814/FUL            Erection of five three bedroom terraced properties on vacant plot to south of 1 Church view, Adbaston. Notice of appeal by applicants.

 

07/10506/ful                Erection of cattle housing building, Doley Mill Farm, Doley road, Adbaston.  No objections raised.

 

08/1046l/FUL             Erection of cattle housing building phase 2, Flashbook Manor, Flashbrook, Newport.  No objections raised.

 

07/10516/FUL                        Single storey extension to the rear to form garden room, 1 Kingswell cottages. Ellerton. No objections raised.

 

 

(a projected plan for an extension to the Jubilee Room, Adbaston had been provided, this was discussed by council members and no objections were raised.

 

ITEM 8                       ANY OTHER BUSINESS.

 

A)            Cllr P Drewnicki reported being pleased to see that a stretch of pavement (by the Old School) being swept.

 

There was no other business.
