ADBASTON PARISH COUNCIL
The Annual General Meeting
of the Parish Council was held on Monday 21st April 2008 at 7.30pm
in The Jubilee Room, Adbaston.
PRESENT: Cllr(s) J.S.Billington., R.K.Briggs., J.Bethell., P.J.Byrd., B.Brown.,
P.Drewnicki.,N.Evans.

The Chairman welcomed everyone present and opened the meeting.

APOLOGIES: There were no apologies.

ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN 2008/2009. Cllr J.S.Billington was nominated by
Cllr R.K.Briggs, seconded by Cllr B.Brown. There were no other nominations and
Cllr Billington was duly elected.

ELECTION OF VICE-CHAIRMAN: Cllr R.K.Briggs was nominated by Cllr J.S.Billington,
seconded by Cllr P.J.Byrd. There were no other nominations and
Cllr Briggs was elected.

MINUTES OF THE 2007 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: These minutes were accepted as a correct record and signed
by the chairman.

MATTERS ARISING:
A)
NOTICEBOARDS- The noticeboard
in the layby in St MichaelÕs Close had been replaced
by Cllr R.K.Briggs and Cllr P Drewnicki. The noticeboard by the Church gate
has been fitted with a new board. Cllrs Briggs and Drewnicki to be
reimbursed for expenses incurred.
B)
HEDGEROW (Shebdon road) This has been
cut. Discharge.
C)
SATELLITE NAVIGATIONS SYSTEMS.
Problems still occuring. On going.
D)
ROAD SAFETY ISSUES: Bishops Offley. On going.
E)
PARKING PLAN. Cllr F
Chapman agreed to approach Stafford and Rural Homes Housing Association about
this.

FINANCE.
A)
The accounts for year ending 31st March 2008 were proposed
as a correct record by Cllr B Brown, seconded by Cllr P Drewnicki,
all members in agreement. The accounts were then signed by the chairman and the
clerk.
B)
Invoice for uncontested election expenses from the Borough Council
totalling £76.94 was authorised for payment.
C)
Cheque – partially signed for Zurich Insurance, this will be due
for payment prior to the next meeting in July.
D)
The Chairman is investigating registering land at Offley March in the
name of the Parish Council and a cheque was partially signed for this purpose.
E)
Cheques were signed for Cllr(s) Briggs and Drewnicki
for expenses reimbursement.
F)
Cheque signed for £20.00 for Mr Ian Glover of Tunstall
towards his sons visit to Shugborough (International
camp)

PLANNING APPLICATIONS: These are not currently being received, the
Planning Department to be approached about this.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
A)
Directional sign post – Marsh Meadow. Damaged.
B)
Public Footpath sign missing from by the Church Gate.
